2024 Hummer EV 3X Pickup offers GM-estimated 381 miles of range

The Hummer EV Pickup Edition 1 model offers an GM-estimated 329 miles of range, which isn’t too shabby, especially for such an absolutely gargantuan vehicle. But for 2024, the 3X model will be able to go even farther when fully juiced up.

On Thursday, GMC announced that this trim level is expected to offer 381 miles of range when fitted with the 24-module battery pack, an increase of 26 compared to the previous model year. Drivers that opt for the vehicle’s available Extreme Off-Road Package can expect around 359 miles of range from a full battery, 30 more than for 2023.

The 3X trim comes standard with a range of amenities to help you dominate any off-road trail the vehicle will fit down. This Hummer EV Pickup trim level features four-wheel steering with CrabWalk diagonal driving capability, there’s air suspension system with Extract Mode to help you get out of gnarly situations, Super Cruise provides hands-free driving capability on more than 400,000 miles of highways in the U.S. and Canada, and you also get standard 22-inch wheels wrapped in massive 35-inch all-terrain tires.

The Watts to Freedom launch mode isn’t of any practical value, but it sure is a great way to impress some friends or scare your spouse. This feature will get the Hummer from a standstill to 60 mph in a scant 3.5 seconds when equipped with the 20-module battery. The larger pack provides even greater performance, doing the same deed in an estimated 3 seconds flat.

For even greater performance in the dirt, the 3X trim’s available Extreme Off-Road Package includes mud-terrain tires mounted to 18-inch wheels. There’s a vehicle-wide camera system that provides 18 different views, even underneath the body; you get a front e-locker and virtual locking rear differential; delicate components are shielded by five separate skid plates; and to ensure all the motors’ torque is under control, engineers include heavy-duty drive shafts with ball splines.

The 2024 GMC Hummer EV 3X Pickup will be assembled at GM’s Factory Zero manufacturing plant in Detroit and Hamtramck, Michigan. As for availability, the vehicle is slated to go on sale this fall, at least for folks that have already reserved one of these mighty electric trucks. Without any options, the vehicle should start at $106,945 including delivery, which is a big chunk of change for an equally massive machine.
