Hyundai Ioniq 6 buyers will also get two years of free charging from Electrify America

There are already several Hyundai and Kia models that receive complimentary charging from Electrify America, and now the Hyundai Ioniq 6 sedan can be added to the list. Owners will receive two years of unlimited 30-minute complimentary charging sessions, starting from the date of purchase. Of course, this is only valid at Electrify America’s network of DC fast chargers.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is equipped with an 800-volt charging system and it can use Electrify America’s 350-kW chargers, but expect peak charging to be around 235 kW for the sedan. Still, it should go from 10% to 80% in as little as 18 minutes, depending on the model. The longest range the Ioniq 6 offers is 361 miles on a single charge when equipped with 18″ wheels. Upgrading to 20″ wheels lowers range to 305 miles, and going all-wheel drive with 20″ wheels brings that figure to 270 miles.

So if you’re considering the Hyundai Ioniq 6, you’ve got public charging taken care of thanks to Electrify America. But what about home charging? Electrify America offers a HomeStation EV charger, which we had the opportunity to review here. You can also check out our list of the best home EV chargers for more recommendations.

“We are excited for a third collaboration with Hyundai to offer customers hyper-fast charging experiences to EV owners,” said Rob Barrosa, vice president of technology, Electrify America. “We look forward to helping advance the electric vehicle revolution with leading automakers such as Hyundai and their latest IONIQ 6 model.”
