Ford’s newest Lightning Pro offering is purpose-built for police use

The 2023 Ford F-150 Lightning Pro Special Service Vehicle supports police departments in many ways including the ability to cut costs and accelerate sustainability goals. By launching America’s first electric police vehicle lineup, Ford continues to provide the vehicles needed to protect and serve communities for more than 70 years.

“We’re proud to offer America’s first electric police pickup truck to local government customers who can use the truck’s game-changing technology to help improve their productivity,” said Nate Oscarson, Ford Pro national government sales manager. So far, Ford Pro customers include more than 12,000 police departments across the country.

The police vehicle lineup outsells all other police vehicles combined. FinSimple, a commercial lending arm, offers flexible financing options as well as charging stations. Ford Pro’s Body Builder Advisory Service also provides a complimentary resource with guides, specialty tools and the latest information on aftermarket equipment.

The F-150 Lightning Pro SSV is designed for specialized departmental needs. For example, assisting at an accident, crime scene or towing a boat or trailer. Ford Pro SSV customers also benefit from software and services such as Ford E-Telematics which delivers manufacturer-grade information, insights and potential solutions on vehicle health and fuel management.

More information on the 2023 F-150 Lightning (including range) will be released later this summer.
