Bespoke Pininfarina Battista gets exposed carbon fiber with a red, white, and blue theme

Pininfarina has revealed the first bespoke Battista battery-electric supercar. Created via the coachbuilder’s all-encompassing personalization program, prospective owners of a Pininfarina Battista can customize their vehicle exactly the way they want it.

The first example from this program is inspired by New York City and features a red, white, and blue exterior color theme and exposed carbon fiber accented by Iconica Blu threads, which is a first in the auto industry. This particular Pininfarina Battista also gets performance stripes and pinstripes finished in Bianco Sestriere metallic, which is hand-applied due to the vehicle’s complex body panel shades. A red Exterior Jewelry pack complements the exterior together with the Furiosa Carbon Accent pack finished in Black Exposed Signature Carbon Fiber. In total, owners can choose between 56 exterior colors to choose from along with exterior brightwork and special finishes for the roof. The Carbon Accent pack and Furiosa Carbon Accent pack are available with bespoke paint colors and exposed carbon fiber finishes. You can further customize the side mirror covers, retractable rear wing, brake calipers, and alloy wheels. Even the engravings on the Battista’s chassis plate are customizable.

For the interior, clients have 128 million combinations to choose from. Everything will be done in a sustainable manner, which is part of Pininfarina’s commitment to reducing its use of harmful chemicals in making the Battista. The leather inside the cabin, for instance, is tanned using olive leaves. This New York City-inspired example features Pilota seats in black leather and Iconica Blue leather upholstery with navy Alcantara inserts. Iconica Blu stitching with red and white cross stitch, red logos on the headrests, white seat belts, brushed aluminum trim with red accents, and Iconica Blu thread on the carbon fiber seat backs round out the details.

Every Battista owner is invited by the design team to make their supercar truly theirs via a collaborative process. A new space at Pininfarina’s Cambiano, Italy facility, dubbed the Atelier, will open later this year to give owners access to material samples and exterior color palette options right next to the assembly line where technicians can work together with the owner. Every part of the vehicle gets the bespoke treatment and clients will get a full consulting service so that their Battista is unique.

“The Pininfarina name has a storied heritage of individual cars, and the Battista continues this legacy as every vehicle will be truly bespoke by design,” said Sara Campagnolo, head of color and material design at Automobili Pininfarina. Our clients have the unique opportunity to join the Automobili Pininfarina family, immersing themselves in the design process with our talented craftspeople to ensure their vehicle authentically reflects their personality and tastes, created with a truly personal touch. Clients have the opportunity to drive forward the development of sustainable luxury, whilst creating a unique collector’s piece.”

Revealed at the 2019 Geneva auto show, the Pininfarina Battista is an all-electric supercar powered by a Rimac-sourced 120-kWh battery and four electric motors. The combined output is 1,900 hp and 1,696 lb-ft of torque. Pininfarina says the Battista can hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in under 2.0 seconds and top out at 186 mph. On a single charge, the Battista can travel up to 450 km or 279 miles but we suspect that’s on the WLTP cycle, which isn’t as conservative as the EPA cycle.
