Volvo’s smallest EV, the EX30, officially set to debut on June 7th

Volvo’s newest EV is about to be shown to the universe, and we know what it is going to be called. The EX30 will be the company’s smallest SUV to date, and also its smallest EV.

Teased in a video you can see below, the EX30 has some design cues from the much larger EX90. The updated Thor’s hammer headlights also look like they’re cribbed straight from the EX90. Hopefully the cool pop-open headlights are present.

We don’t know much else about the EX30, other than it’ll be available to reserve in the United States on the 7th after the reveal.

We’re expecting a smaller-than-an-XC40 SUV with maybe a little bit less range. We also wouldn’t be surprised to see it eventually offered in both rear-wheel and all-wheel drive variants.

A small premium SUV with 230-250 miles of range should sell pretty well. Especially if it’s equipped with Volvo’s updated charging hardware that allows DCFC rates of up to 200 kilowatts.

Once we learn all of the juicy details next month we’ll be sure to pass them along to you!
