Toyota announced on November 5, 2026 that every 2027 RAV4 plug-in hybrid gains a NACS port for DC fast charging, and the company says the plug-in models arrive at U.S. dealers in early 2027. The charge port also moves to the driver’s side, and the onboard AC charger is now 11 kW on all plug-in hybrid grades.
Toyota says the RAV4 plug-in hybrid pairs a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with its sixth-generation plug-in hybrid system for 321 total system hp, with all-wheel drive standard. Pricing starts at $42,100 for the SE, excluding the delivery, processing and handling fee. Toyota lists all-electric range at 52 miles for the SE AWD, 50 miles for the XSE AWD, 46 miles for the Woodland AWD, and 45 miles for the GR SPORT AWD.
The Woodland grade gets a new suspension that raises ground clearance to 9.1 inches, compared with 8.1 inches on the other grades except the GR SPORT, which sits at 7.5 inches. Toyota also lists all-terrain tires, roof rails, a tow hitch, and a 120V/1500W outlet for the Woodland.
The full hybrid RAV4 starts at $32,300 for the LE with front-wheel drive, using a 2.5-liter four-cylinder and Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system. Toyota lists 222 net combined hp with front-wheel drive and 229 hp with all-wheel drive, and manufacturer-estimated fuel economy of 46 mpg city, 40 mpg highway, and 43 mpg combined for the LE FWD. Hybrid models are expected to start arriving at U.S. dealers later in 2026.
