The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a 2024 EV Pulse Editor’s Choice

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 is a great electric sedan that charges quickly and has stellar range for the price. While it ultimately didn’t win our top honors for EV of the Year, its performance was strong enough for it to bring home an EV Pulse Editor’s Choice award for 2024.

The Hyundai Ioniq 6 delivers on everything we expect from a modern Hyundai. The E-GMP architecture allows for lighting quick recharge times, and the 361 miles of available range crushes most of the competition, regardless of price. When you factor back in price, it is hard to argue the winning formula of sleek sedan design, advanced technology, and the value we’ve come to expect from Hyundai.

The Ioniq 6’s design is inspired by ‘streamliner’ designs from the 1930s and features a low drag coefficient, flush door handles, and active front air flaps, contributing to its aerodynamic efficiency. The interior boasts a spacious feel, aluminum-look buttons, hidden-until-lit control buttons, and twin 12-inch screens. The model tested offered a refined driving experience with well-calibrated controls and a harmonious drive overall.

Sedans aren’t as popular as SUVs and crossovers, but the design helps them return excellent efficiency numbers and great range. We need more of that across the entire market.
