Mini Cooper SE Hardtop, Countryman SE All4 get special edition models for 2023

Mini has announced new special editions for the 2023 model year with two of three being offered in the brand’s electrified models. The first is the Mini Resolute Edition for the all-electric Cooper SE Hardtop. It sports the Rebel Green exterior color that was originally exclusive to the John Cooper Works models and complemented by a Pepper White roof and gold stripes on the hood. The headlight surrounds, grille, rear lights, side accents, door handles, tailgate, air intakes, and charging port cap are finished in Resolute Bronze. The logos and the inner part of the car’s grille are finished in Piano Black.

Moving inside, the Mini Cooper SE Resolute Edition gets front sport seats in a Black Pearl/Light Checkered theme finished in cloth and leatherette upholstery. They are complemented by black armrests and knee pads, a Nappa leather sport steering wheel with the edition emblem on the lower portion, and an anthracite headliner. The interior trim is a light shade of gold that forms pinstripe patterns on a contrasting black background. Based on the Iconic trim, the Resolute Edition gets a long list of standard features including an 8.8-inch touch screen and 17-inch alloy wheels. It is priced from $38,750, or $1,000 more than an Iconic variant.

The Cooper SE Hardtop uses a single electric motor with 181 hp and 199 lb-ft of torque and is backed by a 32.6-kWh lithium-ion battery. On a single charge, it can travel up to 114 miles. Peak DC charging rates are 50 kW, enabling it to go from 0 to 80 percent in 35 minutes. Using a level 2 AC charger, a full charge takes four hours.

The Mini Countryman SE All4 will be offered in the new Untamed Edition, which gets inspiration from exploration and adventures. The only available exterior color is Momentum Grey Metallic. Its lower air intake, front air curtain and reflector inserts, side skirts, and lower rear diffuser are also finished in the body color. Logos and letterings in the front and rear of the crossover, the roof, side mirror covers, and roof rails are done in black. The lower area of the doors features four diagonal strips in Frozen Bluestone while the 18-inch alloy wheels sport a two-tone look with burnished surfaces specifically for the Untamed Edition. An available Piano Black Exterior option extends the black design cues to the grille surrounds, headlights, taillights, door handles, exhaust tips, front fender trim, and ALL4 emblems on the side. The E logos on the Countryman SE’s front fenders are finished in Frozen Bluestone

Green and blue are the prominent colors used throughout the Mini Countryman SE Untamed Edition’s interior. Highland Green gets combined with blue and green contrast stitching on the front sport seats, which are finished in the Mini Yours Leather Lounge upholstery. Illuminated trim in Frozen Bluestone and is complemented by a landscape graphic motif and Frozen Blue Metallic accents. There are also Untamed badges scattered throughout the cabin including one on the dash that lights up and is only visible at night. You’ll find the landscape pattern again on the floor mats, door sills, and the back of the front seats. Included as standard equipment on the Untamed Edition are the Light and Excitement packages.

Pricing for the 2023 Mini Countryman SE All4 Untamed Edition starts at $47,750 or $1,500 more than the Iconic trim. The plug-in hybrid Countryman SE is powered by a turbocharged 1.5-liter three-cylinder coupled to an electric motor, a 10-kWh lithium-ion battery, and a six-speed automatic transmission. Combined, the powertrain makes 221 hp and 284 lb-ft. In all-electric mode, the Countryman SE can travel up to 18 miles. When driven as a hybrid, it is rated at 29/30/29 mpg city/highway/combined and is good for 300 miles with a full tank and full charge. Fully charging the battery takes around 2.5 hours using a level 2 AC charger or overnight via a conventional household outlet.
