Barrett-Jackson Auctions has announced that the first 2020 GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 will cross the auction block. The auction company’s flagship event, which is held in Scottsdale, Arizona every March, has been used by automakers to auction off the first examples of hotly anticipated models like the Hummer EV. General Motors will also auction off the first production Chevrolet Corvette C8 convertible alongside the all-electric truck.
The all-electric GMC Hummer EV is an off-road capable all-electric truck with an estimated 1,000 hp and one of the first vehicles to use GM’s Ultium battery and powertrain architecture. It utilizes a three-motor system and a 24-module battery pack, allowing it to travel over 350 miles per charge. GM estimates that the Hummer EV will sprint to 60 mph in around 3.0 seconds. For maximum off-road capability, the Hummer EV features adaptive air suspension and four-wheel steering for improved maneuverability. There are also several drive and terrain modes, allowing the driver to optimize the vehicle for every road surface. When it’s time to charge, the GMC Hummer EV can gain back 100 miles in 10 minutes using a DC fast charger. The new Ultium battery system can support up to 800-volt charging.
Edition 1 models sport a white exterior, an interior color called Lunar Horizon, and Edition 1 badges. The Extreme Off-Road package will also be standard on all GMC Hummer Edition 1 vehicles. That includes 18-inch alloy wheels shod in all-terrain tires, adaptive air suspension, four-wheel steering with Crab Walk capability, underbody cameras, and additional skid plates. Super Cruise, GM’s hands-free semi-autonomous driving assistance feature will also be standard along with automatic lane change capability. Other features include a 14-speaker Bose surround sound system and transparent removable roof panels.
All the proceeds from the auction of the first GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 will go to a charity. “The sale of these remarkable GM vehicles is an important part of our effort to support some very worthwhile charities,” said Barrett-Jackson President Steve Davis. “The thrill of being the winning bidder for either one of these collectible vehicles will only be sweetened by the fact that 100 percent of the hammer price will go to benefit our nation’s veterans, as well as families in need across Southeastern Michigan.”
Look for the first 2020 GMC Hummer EV to cross the auction block in Barrett-Jackson’s Scottsdale auctions, which will take place from March 20 to 27. Pricing for the GMC Hummer EV Edition 1 is $112,595 and will come loaded with every feature available as standard.
