2022 GMC Hummer EV is a real thing that exists and it’s undergoing testing

In case you were wondering if the 2022 GMC Hummer EV was just vaporware, you now know it’s not. With a new round of photos from the brand, it can be seen undergoing winter testing.

There’s not much else to say, really, other than the vehicle actually exists and just isn’t a rolling display. We are digging the looks of the not-for-production testing headlights, and wouldn’t be completely mad if they stuck around (they won’t).

Winter validation testing is important for any vehicle, but especially an electric. Range can be dramatically reduced when the temperature drops so it’s important to know how the cold affects the systems.

Also, since there’s no motor to generate heat, it’s important to make sure the heating system is top notch.

We’re excited to see development is moving along, despite the pandemic. Hopefully we’ll get to drive it sometime next year.
