Volkswagen unveils rose-covered ID.3 GTX for Valentine’s Day

Volkswagen has introduced a unique promotional event for Valentine’s Day featuring its all-electric hatchback, the ID.3 GTX Performance. The vehicle has been adorned with approximately 3,000 rose petals and is currently displayed at Riverside Slice on London’s South Bank, a location known for its romantic associations in films such as Love Actually and Four Weddings And A Funeral. The floral arrangement was completed by Steph Lovell Flowers, taking nine hours to cover the car in red, pink, and white petals.

In addition to the decorative exterior, the car contains 200 roses that will be distributed to visitors by Emma Barnes, a participant from Married At First Sight UK. Attendees are invited to take photographs with both Barnes and the vehicle, and the campaign is using the hashtag #LoveVolkswagen on social media.

The event also features opportunities for themed activities, including speed dating and proposals, inspired by the car’s sporty design. The ID.3 GTX Performance will be available for viewing from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. local time on Valentine’s Day, with Barnes present from midday to 2 p.m.

The ID.3 GTX Performance is Volkswagen’s smallest all-electric hot hatch. It features an output of 326 PS, accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 5.7 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 124 mph under appropriate conditions. The ID.3 GTX is available in various colors, including Kings red metallic, which is the shade used for the promotional display.
