Rebelle Rally kicks off next week with first electric truck participant

The Rebelle Rally is an off-road challenge that pits teams against each other to test navigation ability, driving talent, and ability to work as a team. With no cellphones or GPS units allowed, the winner is the team with the most skill, and not necessarily the fastest.

It, quite honestly, sounds like fun. And for the teams of women who participate it can be a life-changing experience. From a fan perspective, there have been some interesting rigs to participate.

This year has one of the most interesting yet. Team Killer Watt, which consists of friend of the site Emme Hall and Rebecca Donaghe, is using a Rivian R1T for this year’s event. It’ll provide some unique challenges, considering the truck runs on electricity. Electricity really isn’t found easily in the desert.

Not that Hall and Donaghe aren’t familiar with unique challenges. They won their class in last year’s event piloting a Rolls-Royce Cullinan in what was probably the most extreme use anyone will ever use a Cullinan for.

If you’ve heard of Emme Hall before, it is likely because she’s an editor at Roadshow and was also at TFLcar before. She’s also experienced in desert racing, and is one of the few people on the planet this author would trust to not kill him out in the sand.

We’ll be following Team Killer Watt‘s progress throughout the 10 day event and bring you updates here. We wish them, and all the competitors, good luck.
