Toyota has released full pricing and specification details for the 2026 Prius Plug-in Hybrid lineup, which arrives at dealerships later this summer with four trims: SE, XSE, Nightshade Edition and XSE Premium. The base SE starts at $33,775; stepping up to the XSE raises the window sticker to $37,025. The new Nightshade Edition—essentially an XSE with blacked-out styling—comes in at $37,795, while the range-topping XSE Premium lists for $40,470. (All figures exclude Toyota’s $1,195 dealer processing and handling fee and remain subject to change.)
Every Prius Plug-in Hybrid uses Toyota’s fifth-generation Hybrid Synergy Drive, combining a 2.0-liter four-cylinder with dual motor-generators and a 13.6-kWh lithium-ion battery. Output is rated at 220 horsepower, good for a projected 0–60 time of 6.6 seconds and up to 52 mpg in hybrid operation. Electric-only driving is class-leading for a plug-in compact: the SE is expected to deliver 44 miles of range, while the heavier XSE, Nightshade and XSE Premium are pegged at about 40 miles. A household 120-volt outlet will top off the battery in eleven hours; a Level 2 charger cuts that to roughly four hours. Drivers can select EV, Auto EV/HV or Hybrid modes and toggle Normal, Eco or Sport settings to balance efficiency and performance.

Styling distinctions grow as you climb the ladder. The SE rolls on 17-inch dark-gray alloys and features fabric seats and an 8-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia touchscreen. The XSE adds 19-inch machined wheels, SofTex upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat and available 12.3-inch display. Built off that grade, the Nightshade Edition drapes the body in gloss-black badging, door handles, bumper trim and 19-inch wheels, with carbon-fiber interior accents and exclusive Karashi yellow paint among its options. The XSE Premium caps the range with standard JBL audio, a fixed glass roof, ventilated front seats, a power liftback and an optional 185-watt solar roof that can charge the traction battery when parked.
All models include Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which bundles forward-collision warning with pedestrian detection, lane-tracing assist, full-speed radar cruise control and road-sign assist. Connected tech is robust as well: SE, XSE and Nightshade get an 8-inch screen with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, while the XSE Premium’s 12.3-inch display adds cloud-based navigation and an Intelligent Assistant voice interface. Every trim includes at least a one-year trial of Remote Connect, Drive Connect, Wi-Fi Connect and other telematics services.

With its blend of crisp styling, EV-class range and black-accented Nightshade flair, the new Prius Plug-in Hybrid positions itself as one of the most versatile—and stealthy—compact plug-ins on the market when it hits showrooms in the coming months.
