New E-Transit model offers improved range and faster charging capabilities

Ford Pro has announced the opening of order banks for the enhanced-range version of the E-Transit, which is currently the best-selling electric van in the United States. The latest version of the E-Transit offers a 32% increase in range, allowing for up to 159 miles on a single charge. This improvement, along with faster charging times facilitated by new dual onboard chargers, aims to better serve commercial fleets of various sizes. The E-Transit now supports a wider range of commercial applications, including those requiring refrigerated delivery, due to its larger battery capacity of 89 kWh.

The vehicle continues to deliver strong performance metrics, maintaining 266 horsepower and 317 lb.-ft. of torque. The addition of dual onboard chargers has enhanced the van’s charging capabilities, making the process 22% faster than previous models when paired with Ford Pro’s 80A Series 2 charger. The available Ford Pro charging software also aids in optimizing charging times.

In terms of technology, the E-Transit includes smart features such as E-Telematics, which assists fleet operators in managing their vehicles more efficiently with remote commands and control systems. Safety features like the Standard Lane-Keeping System, Pre-Collision Assist with Automatic Emergency Braking, and high-resolution cameras are also included to improve driver confidence and safety.

Priced starting at $51,095, before accounting for any local, state, or federal electric vehicle incentives, the E-Transit is eligible for the federal $7,500 Commercial Clean Vehicle Tax Credit. This pricing strategy, combined with reduced costs for fuel, maintenance, and operations, contributes to its designation as the Best Fleet Value in America by Vincentric for the third consecutive year.
