Mercedes-Benz teases electric GLC with illuminated iconic grille

Mercedes-Benz will unveil the all-new GLC with EQ Technology at the IAA Mobility show in Munich on September 7, 2025. The midsize electric SUV is the first series production vehicle to showcase the brand’s updated Sensual Purity design language, highlighted by a new iconic grille. The grille features a wide chromed frame, a smoked-glass-effect lattice structure, and integrated contour lighting. An optional illuminated version offers 942 backlit dots that can be animated, along with an illuminated central star and surrounding panel contour.

The redesigned grille bridges over a century of heritage—from the vertical chrome grilles of early Mercedes-Benz models to today’s high-tech art piece. The new GLC continues to lead the model line as the brand’s best seller, now running on the MB.OS software platform and introducing an all-new, seamless MBUX HYPERSCREEN across the dashboard. The hyperscreen unifies driver and passenger displays behind a single curved glass surface, creating a “Welcome Home” environment that combines comfort, intuitive controls, and advanced connectivity.
