Hyundai gives the Ioniq 6 a much-needed facelift

Hyundai Motor Company has introduced the redesigned Ioniq 6 and Ioniq 6 N Line at the Seoul Mobility Show 2025 in Korea. This new model builds upon the original Ioniq 6, which was launched in 2022 and received multiple awards. The updated version features refined curves and improved proportions, contributing to a streamlined silhouette.

Simon Loasby, Senior Vice President and Head of Hyundai Design Center, stated, “Ioniq 6 has evolved from a single Electrified Streamliner into a lineup, each model expressing its own character while staying true to one refined vision.” The design philosophy, termed “Pure Flow, Refined,” aims to enhance the vehicle’s lines and details, making it simpler and more progressive.

The Ioniq 6 emphasizes the identity of electrified streamliners, focusing on a natural body flow. Key design elements include an elevated hood, an extended shape, and a shark-nose design that collectively create an aerodynamic profile. The new model has replaced the previous prominent spoiler with a ducktail spoiler, which maintains aerodynamic efficiency while contributing to a smoother appearance. The front and rear designs have been modernized, featuring separate slim daytime running lights and main lamps, as well as horizontal elements that enhance the car’s stance.

Inside, the Ioniq 6 adheres to the “Mindful Cocoon” concept, prioritizing comfort and user experience. The interior includes a redesigned steering wheel, improved door trim materials, and a refined center console for better functionality. The climate control display has also been enlarged for user convenience.

Alongside the standard model, the Ioniq 6 N Line has been unveiled, showcasing a bolder design influenced by the RN22e Rolling Lab. This variant features wing-shaped bumpers and a sculptural form that accentuates its aggressive stance. The extensive use of black detailing at the rear enhances its sporty proportions, complemented by a two-dimensional Parametric Pixel lamp design that adds a digital aesthetic.

Hyundai has also hinted at the upcoming Ioniq 6 N, a high-performance version of the electrified streamliner, which is expected to be revealed in July. Specifications mentioned pertain to the Korean-market model, and features may vary by market.
