Ford lowers the price on all F-150 Lightning models

Citing raw materials costs, production scaling, and increased plant capacity, Ford announced a price reduction on its F-150 Lightning all-electric pickup.

Customers ordering today will have their trucks by October at a price that is a bit closer to the price at which the Lightning went on sale. For those with short memories, Lightning has increased in price fairly substantially several times since it launched.

“Shortly after launching the F-150 Lightning, rapidly rising material costs, supply constraints and other factors drove up the cost of the EV truck for Ford and our customers,” said Marin Gjaja, chief customer officer, Ford Model e. “We’ve continued to work in the background to improve accessibility and affordability to help to lower prices for our customers and shorten the wait times for their new F-150 Lightning.”

Here’s a breakdown of all the new pricing:

All prices are listed with the $1,995 included, since you can’t get a truck without paying it.

The Rouge Electric Vehicle Center is currently shut down while final upgrades take place to get the plant capable of a 150,000 truck a year run rate. That should occur this fall.

The Lighting is eligible for up to $7,500 in federal tax incentives, plus anything at the state or local level.

While the delivery fee is astronomical, the new pricing should make the truck more appealing to buyers. Especially those who might’ve been put off by the price increases not too long after the truck went on sale.

The Lighting Pro is still approximately $10,000 more than where it started, which was a stellar deal. Compared to the other electric pickup trucks currently on sale out there, the Pro is still not a bad way to go.
