Ferrari Purosangue will lead group of SUVs, including EVs, because Ferrari likes to make money: Report

Just as sure as there would be a mutated, even more contagious strain of COVID-19 in the United States, Ferrari is going to build an SUV and future electric SUVs. Why? Because Ferrari likes making money.

A report out of Car Magazine says that in addition to the upcoming Ferrari Purosangue SUV, there’ll be a family of SUVs with some of them being full EVs.

The Purosangue will already have a hybrid drivetrain when it launches, but when Ferrari developed the platform they designed it with full electrification in mind.

Depending on market conditions, the Ferrari SUV could run on a V6, V8, or even a V12. The first Purosangue will have a 4.0-liter V8 with electric assistance, like the LaFerrari, with around 700 horsepower.

SUVs and crossovers are the future, whether you like it or not. The money these vehicles generate will be what allows some of these manufacturers to continue making dedicated sports cars for others to enjoy.

Though we wouldn’t be surprised to see the electrification trend continue to all of Ferrari’s cars, and not just these SUVs.
