Dodge unveils Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system for 2024 Charger Daytona

Dodge has introduced a new feature for the upcoming 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona models: the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. This patent-pending system aims to challenge conventional expectations of electric vehicles by producing a distinctive sound profile typically associated with muscle cars. The system integrates dual transducers and passive radiators within a custom enclosure, powered by a dedicated amplifier to create a deep rumble, characteristic of Dodge’s performance vehicles.

The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system reacts to various inputs such as accelerator pedal position, speed, and torque output to generate unique exhaust tones. These sounds serve as essential feedback for the driver, especially during high-performance activities such as track driving. The intensity of the exhaust sound is linked to the vehicle’s performance modes, with Sport Mode offering a moderate output, while more aggressive modes like Drag, Drift, Donut, and Track deliver a louder experience. For those who prefer a quieter ride, the system also includes a Stealth Mode.

The Charger Daytona’s Fratzonic system is positioned within the vehicle’s lower rear fascia and is identified by a Fratzonic logo. It enhances the driving experience by responding dynamically to events such as acceleration, deceleration, and throttle inputs.

In addition to this announcement, Dodge is launching a 20-part video series titled “Built Upon a Legacy” on its official YouTube channel. This series will delve into various features of the new Charger Daytona, including its design and innovative technologies. The first episode focuses on the vehicle’s exterior design elements and driver-centric interior features, with future episodes set to explore additional aspects such as the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, widebody styling, and performance capabilities.

Production of the two-door versions of the Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack will begin in the summer of 2024, while four-door models are expected to start production in early 2025. The Charger lineup will also include gas-powered variants, such as the Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O. and SIXPACK S.O., slated for production in the latter half of 2025.
