Starting in February, Audi will introduce a larger battery option for its entry-level Q4 e-tron and Q4 Sportback e-tron models. The new 63 kWh battery (59 kWh net) will enhance both daily commuting and leisure driving, allowing for an electric range of up to 412 kilometers (256 miles) for the Q4 e-tron and 423 kilometers (263 miles) for the Sportback version. Under optimal conditions, the battery can charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 24 minutes at fast-charging stations, with a potential recharge of up to 150 kilometers (93 miles) in just ten minutes. The maximum DC charging power is rated at 165 kW.
The Q4 40 e-tron can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 8.1 seconds, with a top speed of 160 km/h (99 mph). The vehicle is powered by a permanently excited synchronous motor (PSM) at the rear axle, delivering 150 kW (204 PS) of power. Both model variants have a towing capacity of 1,000 kilograms (2,205 lbs) on a twelve percent incline and 1,200 kilograms (2,645 lbs) on an eight percent incline.
Charging times for the Q4 40 e-tron are reduced, even without using the intelligent route planner or the automatic battery-preconditioning feature. Drivers can opt for manual battery preheating through the MMI system, which provides information on the available charging power and enhances charging efficiency.
Additionally, Audi has introduced a predictive maintenance reminder feature accessible via the myAudi app. This tool provides owners with a clear overview of maintenance-related components, such as brake pads and battery status, using color-coded indicators. Once activated, the selected dealer will contact the customer to schedule maintenance appointments.

The Q4 40 e-tron also includes access to the Audi application store through its MMI system, allowing users to utilize various apps without a smartphone. A one-year, 25 GB data package is included, enhancing connectivity via the vehicle’s external antenna. Navigation features allow precise planning for vehicle charging, including filters for desired battery levels and specific charging station providers.
The upgraded voice-operated system, powered by Azure OpenAI Service, allows for improved control over infotainment, navigation, and climate settings, enabling safer driving by allowing drivers to keep their focus on the road.
The Q4 40 e-tron is priced from 46,150 euros, while the Q4 Sportback 40 e-tron starts at 48,150 euros. Standard features include Audi MMI navigation plus, Audi connect navigation and infotainment, and a fully digital 10.25-inch Audi virtual cockpit. The luggage compartment lid is electric as standard, and front seat heating is also included. Orders for both models will open starting mid-February in Europe. Availability in North America has not been confirmed.
