All-new GLC debuts MBUX Hyperscreen and ambient design language

Mercedes-Benz will unveil the all-new GLC with EQ Technology on September 7 at IAA Mobility 2025 in Munich, positioning it as the first series-production showcase of the brand’s next Sensual Purity design phase. The model previews a reinterpreted front grille and a cabin that leans into intuitive digital tech and flowing forms.

Center stage is a seamless MBUX Hyperscreen that stretches pillar to pillar. At 39.1 inches, it is the largest display yet in a Mercedes-Benz and uses a matrix backlight with more than 1,000 LEDs. Intelligent zone dimming allows two display areas to be adjusted simultaneously via sliders, keeping key information clear while reducing distraction. Mercedes-Benz has filed a patent for the technology.

A single sculptural trim piece visually unites the instrument panel and center console, accented by ambient lighting. Depending on specification, the console can house up to two trays for inductive and rapid smartphone charging, followed by a new hard-key control strip that includes the hazard button. Separated cupholders improve daily usability, while galvanized vents add a crisp tech look. Climate changes briefly shift ambient-light colors and vent illumination to confirm selections. Door panels remain clean and uncluttered with metallic speaker grilles, and the leather seating continues the minimalist theme.

High-resolution ambient styles can be selected as animated backgrounds, ranging from calm to intense, cool to warm, and technical to emotional. Through MB.OS, the instrument cluster, controls, and ambient lighting align with the chosen motif so the physical and digital elements feel unified.

With its new face outside and a seamless, lighting-rich interface inside, the electric GLC signals where Mercedes-Benz aims to take design, comfort, and in-car interaction next.
