2024 Ford F-150 Lightning now available for online orders

Ford has announced the opening of online orders for its 2024 F-150 Lightning trucks, now available from the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center. The 2024 model introduces several technological enhancements, including a Vapor Injection Heat Pump System designed to optimize energy use in various weather conditions. This new system improves performance by adjusting to different ambient temperatures in both heating and cooling modes.

Further updates include a new display on the instrument cluster that shows the charging status and speed, along with an estimated time to complete charging. Additionally, key features from the Tow Technology Package, such as Smart Hitch and On-Board Scales, are now standard on XLT models and higher. These trims also feature a 360-degree camera, Pro Trailer Backup Assist, Pro Trailer Hitch Assist, and Trailer Reverse Guidance.

The truck supports Pro Power Onboard, allowing for electrical power access even when the truck is turned off. The new Walk Away Lock feature automatically secures the vehicle when the user walks away. Additionally, Ford’s BlueCruise technology, which supports hands-free highway driving, has been enhanced with Lane Change Assist and In-Lane Repositioning on select models.

In terms of pricing, the MSRP for the 2024 F-150 Lightning has been reduced across several trims, with significant price adjustments on select models. The Flash Extended Range model, for instance, now starts under $70,000 and features advanced technology including a large touchscreen and wireless charging.

Ford also announced that it is the first automaker to access the Tesla Supercharger network, significantly expanding charging options for its EV owners through the BlueOval Charge Network. This expansion effectively doubles the number of accessible DC fast chargers for Ford electric vehicles. Customers can also order a Fast-Charging Adapter for enhanced charging capabilities.
