2023 Kia Sportage teasers show off massive curved display, angular face

Kia has officially teased the 2023 Sportage and it looks like the crossover will get a face that no one will mistake for anything else. Two exterior and one interior sketch of the 2023 Kia Sportage were released and we can immediately tell that this crossover received the brand’s new tiger face look. The headlights have cool triangular-shaped LED daytime running lights that start from the hood and curve down to the lower part of the bumper. It also appears the headlights are also integrated into the grille.

You get a more conventional appearance in the rear with taillight clusters linked together by a single light strip. The 2023 Kia Sportage also gets the floating roof look that’s gotten popular with crossovers. Inside, the car gets a curved dual-display layout, which may house two 12.3-inch screens. The center stack seems to feature more haptic feedback controls too.

Expect the 2023 Kia Sportage’s powertrain lineup to mostly mirror the mechanically similar Hyundai Tucson. That means the higher-powered options will be the hybrid systems out of the larger Sorento. Expect the standard hybrid to offer 227 hp combined while the plug-in should get 261 hp thanks to a more powerful electric motor and a bigger battery. The Sportage should also offer a more dynamic driving experience since that’s one of its key distinguishing factors.
