Will the Walmart Black Friday TV fit in my electric car?

Despite the pandemic and economic uncertainty that comes with it, the holiday shopping season is upon us. That means that the day after Thanksgiving in the United States, people will be flocking to stores and online to get holiday deals.

While many will shop online this year because of the pandemic, some may mask up and head to the store to secure their purchase. If that person is you, you probably want to know if you’ll be able to fit your haul in your car? It’s a fair question, and we’re going to try to answer that for you.

One of the best deals this Black Friday 2020 season is the 70-inch Vizio 4K class television from Walmart. While we’re not here to critique the intricacies of that television, a selling price of $478 makes it a heck of a deal. But a 70-inch television is big. Obviously.

So, will it fit?

Best Buy lists the dimensions for a 70-inch V-Series television at 41.34 inches tall, 66.77 inches wide, and 7.87 inches deep. Here’s a rundown of common EVs and whether or not the television will fit with the box;

  • Tesla Model 3: No
  • Tesla Model Y: No
  • Tesla Model S: No
  • Tesla Model X: Yes (with seats folded)
  • Nissan Leaf: No
  • Chevrolet Bolt EV: No

While this is by no means a comprehensive list of electric vehicles on sale in the United States, it does represent some of the most common.

Since automakers typically don’t publish the size of their trunk or boot openings, we had to resort to third party information from a variety of websites.
